Catching up

It's a beautiful day for flying. In fact one flew overhead during my morning walk.
I learned to fly in the mid 1960s at a flying club called Happy Pilots. One of the members was Owen Garriott who later became one of the first scientist astronauts. I tell you that to tell you this. His son, Richard, a video game magnate paid 35 million dollars to 'rocket' to the Soyuz space station and back safely. It's a small world. I almost know a bunch of millionaires.
Wednesday brother Bob stopped by. He had pictures of a local (to him) fire taken from his rear patio. Too close. Then he and Dianne are off again to a ball game.
Yesterday I took the time to drive to Flabob airport for a short visit. While there I took a short terrorist run on the bike around the airport to assure myself and others that there are no terrorists on the airport grounds. Surprise! There were none. FDR told us many years ago that "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself". For eight years George Bush has maintained a high fear level to his advantage. With any luck at all after January 20,2009 we'll no longer need to see goblins under every rock. Then we can try to regain our lost Constitutional rights.
Our mutual fear of terrorists convinces me that we're all on this flight together.
