I am beginning to understand p-adic math as well as some of its implications. It's really just another way to arrange things. We number the pages of a book as 1,2,3,4,5,6... We all learned what that means when we learned our numbers in kindergarten. p-adic is just another way to arrange the things. The 'p' in p-adic stands for prime numbers. Prime numbers are numbers which can be evenly divided only by 1 and itself (3,5,7,11,...). People have been fascinated with prime numbers since ever. It turns out that for some reason p-adic math is suited to modelling topology or shapes, shaping the 'landscape' using a math based in prime numbers.
The landscape of the p-adic world has nodes at, or overlaps, the landscape of the ordinary world at the prime numbers.
The landscape of the mind, the who am I at its most basic level, could be modelled using p-adic math, being part of the reason for our fascination with prime numbers. The nexus, or connection with the ordinary world would be at the prime numbers.
Now the aha moment. It makes so much sense. Like String Theory it seems simple. Using Occam's Razor we can become anything I chose if I can manipulate the p-adic landscape by adjusting the ordinary values at the prime numbers.
There are a lot of assumptions made here and a lot of questions to be answered but the skeleton is there. This comes from Finnish physicist who calls it topological geometric dynamics (TGD).
Or not.
TGD is proof that we're all on this flight together.
