On another topic here is a philosophical question. Aside from the effects of traffic fatalities, what is it that makes me ..'me'? Is it my brain, or my heart? One could argue, I suppose, that it's the kidney or even the stomach. Which part would have to be excised to remove 'me' from the rest of the stuff? I seem to recall a movie in which the tables were lined with jars holding only brains. Each brain thought it was a real person doing real things. The question is particularly relevant when Captain Kirk says ,"Beam me up, Scotty". When his DNA sequence is disassembled for transmission across the Universe, what is the part or sequence that retains 'Captain Kirk' as Captain Kirk? What has to be specified to separate the molecules or sequence of the second-in-command from those of Captain Kirk?
The answer to the question of "Who Am I" could be of critical importance to us in the near future.
Or not.
That I am is proof that we're all on this flight together.
